Our goal is to help make sure you have a fab experience before you even see and hear your chosen act live on the day.

Every booking receives their own dedicated, experienced Event Manager. This friendly team member will be on hand throughout the process to answer any and every question (no question is too silly to ask, promise) ensuring things run smoothly from the A-Z (that’s from the Atmosphere our musicians create to the Zero regrets you’ll have in working with Hey Jack). We’ll also set up a personalised online Music Portal which allows you to review and curate your own song selections, including listing the moment you want them played.

Your chosen act will also be in contact with the venue a few weeks prior to your wedding date to ensure everything ticks the boxes when it comes to sound system requirements. Nothing last minute or forgotten here!

You can hear your requested songs at any time throughout the day, with popular choices being when you walk down the aisle, make your *official* entrance as a married couple or take to the stage for your first dance.

You can literally roll solo, or you have the option to add an extra musician/instrument to accompany your talented soloist choice. It won’t sound like primary school singing over a group playing their recorders out of sync. If you need to relocate in between your ceremony and reception, we’ve got you covered. We account for this upfront so you don’t get hit with sneaky extra charges later. If your coverage is booked for seven hours, this includes travel time in between, not on top!

 You have booked an agency with experienced Entertainment Managers, curating wedding entertainment daily. We love taking on all coordination and meetings on the performers’ behalf to ensure no details are missed. Our performers are paid to perform and sometimes don’t enjoy the planning side of things – hence they work for us, and everything becomes seamless for all parties. Your Entertainment Manager will be in touch 3 weeks before your date to kick off all the planning, and you can rest assured that we send a detailed brief and run sheet to all our performers – nothing is missed!

Wondering what happens if you’re ready to lock in your entertainment and soloist but aren’t 100% on your wedding times yet? It’s not a problem! You can pay your deposit and secure the act of your choice for the date and then down the track we can work out the finer details – et voila!

What happens if the act has to refuel with a food break or pop to the loo? It’s not a crazy think to wonder about, since this will definitely happen! Each artist is experienced and knows how to keep their breaks short and sweet and time them so that you have live music for all the big important moments. Your performer can also cue a pre-corded song to play during any breaks that fits your overall song selection style.

Does Hey Jack recommend the wedding singers based on my wedding theme or style and venue?

Most people have a vision for their wedding day, but pulling together the finer details to align with that vision can take time and effort. How early in advance should I start thinking about a wedding signer for hire?

Firstly, congrats on your engagement! Organising your wedding day is such an exciting time, but we also know the feels around it can be very daunting. When booking wedding entertainment, we do recommend planning a year in advance to remove additional stress closer to the big day. This timeframe is suggested due to the high proportion of weddings that take place every day across Melbourne. To be frank, wedding entertainment is in high demand, especially during the peak wedding seasons of spring and summer. It’s always best to secure your dream musician a year or more in advance to avoid having them stolen by another couple.

Are we able to meet our wedding singer before our special day?

We totally understand you wish for your wedding singer to get to know you before the big event, which is why we have set up a music portal for every Hey Jack client. This portal gives you the opportunity to customise all song choices, genres, and must-play and ‘do not play’ songs. By providing this information, your musician can get to know your musical taste before they take centre stage at your wedding. If you have any questions for your wedding singer, feel free to convey them in the meeting with your very own planning team scheduled for a month before your wedding day.

Will we have to organise the audio and equipment for our wedding singer?

Where Hey Jack is involved, you don’t have to stress about sourcing your own audio and equipment! Our performers come ready to rock with all the equipment necessary to put on the best wedding performance of all time. However, if your venue is already organised and prepped with all things audio and equipment, please let your band know so they can pack a little lighter.

How long should we have a singer performing at our wedding?

Generally, your wedding singer will form part of your wedding ceremony (if you’re looking for that live acoustic music to walk down the aisle). Your professional singer will arrive well before their first song to set up and perform a sound check to ensure their performance is seamless. They typically start singing once the doors open for your guests to arrive. From there, it’s all dependent on your vision- if you have them for most of the night or you switch over to a DJ. We will work with you to build your dream event. An important detail to note is that our musicians take 15-minute breaks every hour to rest their vocal cords, but rest assured, the vibes will still be there with a curated playlist.

What will our chosen singer wear at our wedding?

We understand brides and grooms spend months organising their colour schemes, table settings and overall vibe of the big day. At Hey Jack, we ensure all our performers are well-presented and styled so they don’t interfere with your wedding aesthetic. If you do have a specific request for your performer’s outfits on the day, contact us, and we will try our best to make it happen.

What is the standard booking policy?

Ready to lock in your perfect performer? Our standard booking policy is an initial 30% payment to lock in your band. The remaining balance is to be paid 45 days before your big day. Once that all-important first step of booking (and deposit) is made, you will be given your very own musical portal to start adding in any show-stopping tunes or sweet serenades you wish to feature on the day. One-month before showtime, the planning team will take over and give you a run down on all the smaller deets- relieving you to focus on other pressing matters!

What is the best form of contact if I need to get in touch?

We love a chat! The best way to contact Hey Jack is by filling out the contact form on our website- you’ll find this under our main menu as ‘submit an enquiry’. We also recommended creating a shortlist of your entertainment preferences- you can do this by viewing the performer’s profile on our website and tapping the “add to shortlist” button. This automatically populates and will be included on your enquiry form. Filling out the form with all your essential information will assist our team in better understanding your wedding or event details, allowing us to get the party started quicker.
