Zimi blends retro and cutting-edge jazz styles, having inhaled the lineage of greats like Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday and Dexter Gordon while tracing the modern impact of 21st century contemporaries such as Amy Winehouse, Jazmine Sullivan and Cleo Sol. A mainstay of the live music scene, Zimi and her band of jazz-heavy regulars have frequented jazz clubs, dive venues and jams around Melbourne for the last five years. With an endearingly quirky stage presence and a red wine in hand, Zimi hopes her music leaves heavy hearts feeling less alone.
